MeetingNotesRecorder

This app is designed to record audio locally on your device with no analytics, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking libraries.

Last updated: 2026-04-03

Data this app handles

  • Audio recordings you create in the app
  • Basic app settings stored locally on device, such as whether encryption or long-recording mode is enabled

How data is used

  • Audio is used only to let you record, play back, encrypt, decrypt, rename, delete, and share recordings you explicitly manage in the app.
  • Settings are used only to remember your local app preferences.

Data sharing

  • The app does not sell your personal data.
  • The app does not share audio or settings with the developer automatically.
  • Recordings are only shared when you explicitly use Android sharing or companion-app handoff features.

Data collection

  • The app does not collect analytics.
  • The app does not collect advertising identifiers.
  • The app does not transmit recordings to the developer.

Storage and security

  • Recordings are stored in the app's private internal storage by default.
  • When encryption is enabled, recordings are encrypted after capture using AES-256-GCM with a key managed by Android Keystore.
  • A raw recording may exist temporarily during an active session until the app finishes post-stop encryption.

Permissions

  • RECORD_AUDIO is required to capture audio.
  • FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE are required to keep recording active while the app is backgrounded.
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS is requested on supported Android versions so the required recording notification can be shown reliably.

Your choices

  • You can delete recordings from inside the app.
  • You can disable post-recording encryption if you choose.
  • You can share recordings only through actions you initiate yourself.
