This OEM-style upgrade combines a simple hardware change with the coding needed to make the system work correctly.

Before starting

  • Diesel cars or ESP-equipped cars often have a better chance of being pre-wired
  • Check the 2-pin connector behind the turn-signal stalk
  • Have Tech2 or OP-COM available for coding
  • Keep the security code ready when needed

What you need

  • Cruise control stalk GM 13191079
  • Torx T20
  • Diagnostic tool for enabling the function
  • Some patience when opening the steering column trim

Procedure summary

  1. Open the steering column trim and verify the connector
  2. Replace the original stalk with the cruise version
  3. Code the engine ECU, IPC and BCM
  4. Verify correct country settings and road behaviour
It stays useful because it brings compatibility checks, hardware changes and coding into one clear sequence.
